An html image "<img>" tag comes with alternative text attribute "alt" which allows for short description of represented image. In a past the "alt" attribute has been helpful in SEO but more importantly it is extremely important to screen readers which are utilized by users with disabilities. Providing alternative text for all images on the page greatly helps with accessibility.
